At first glance it might look daunting to see the below list but do not worry, it only means that there are some many clients out there that it is viable to have this many sites up. And that increases your future as a Anywhere Freelancer!

Below is a comprehensive list of sites you can sign up as a freelancer and/or view available jobs. I now many of the sites below well, some not so much and some speciality sites that I have heard good things.

Odesk.com is very popular online freelancing site with hundreds of jobs published everyday. Their slogan is “Love the way you work” and I could not agree more! Odesk has both fixed and hourly contracts and for the latter they offer payment protection making sure that every hour work is every hour paid.

Elance.com is very popular online freelancing site with hundreds of jobs published everyday around the world. Their slogan is “Work differently” which suites really well for this somewhat new industry of online freelancers. Elance has both fixed and hourly contracts and they offer payment protection for both types of contracts.

 

 
First line on Guru.com About sections is “Welcome to the world’s best online marketplace for freelance talent”. On Guru as a freelancer you can have profile, online portfolio and they also have tool called Marketing Score that helps freelancer on their strengths. Guru has thousands of jobs in all areas such as Graphic Design, Website Development, Marketing, Sales and Admin.

 

 
Freelancer.com was established in 2004 and have since had just under whopping 5,000,000 projects posted! They say on their site that, “Freelancer.com is the world’s largest outsourcing and crowdsourcing marketplace for small business”. They have secure milestone payment system and jobs in SEO, Web Design, Engineering, Writing, Data Entry and more.

 

People per hour
 
Peopleperhour.com is a UK site with hundreds of jobs posted each week. As well as having traditional job board they also have Hourlie where you can sell services for a fixed price, something similar to Fiverr.com which is really handy for say logo design type of work.

 

Sologig
Sologig.com is part of CareerBuilder, which is largest job site in the US. Jobs on Sologig are mainly in IT and engineering. You can post resume and get automatic job alerts.

 

ProBlogger Job Board is great job board especially if you are looking for writing gigs and any blogging related jobs. Please not that Problogger only offers place for clients to post jobs and those applying for jobs should ensure client is trustworthy and that your payment is safe. Do not let that turn you off from this site, just use same due diligence as applying to any job.

 

Microlancer
Microlancer.com focuses on graphics and creative design jobs but they are planning to open their job board for other type of freelancers as well. Microlancer offers clear and simple process for clients and freelancers.

 

Krop
Krop.com is job board for the creative industry. On top of job board they also offer portfolio website for freelancers.
